I'm going to start off pretty simple by sharing some of my favorite Disney movies and in no particular order, because that would just be way too hard for me.
1. The Little Mermaid
I said this was going to be in no particular order, but The Little Mermaid has always been my #1 favorite Disney movie and Disney princess ever since I was little! Not only does she have red hair like me, but she is also a mermaid! It doesn't get any cooler.
2. Peter Pan
Also one of my top favorites, the one and only Peter Pan! I've always loved this story and I honestly love it even more now that I'm older. It's a great film that also made some history! Walt Disney's Peter Pan was the first Peter Pan film to be made into cartoon and to have a boy play Peter Pan.... and Neverland would be pretty awesome to visit.
3. The Great Mouse Detective
Now I'll start going in order from oldest to newest. The Great Mouse Detective was another favorite from my childhood and one I definitely think is underrated. With a villain of an evil rat, this movie is an odd one, but it is definitely a good one!
4. The Nightmare Before Christmas
This Halloween and Christmas themed movie is also one to check out. While a lot of people think it would just be creepy like other Tim Burton movies, I don't think this one is. This is just about a pumpkin king who lives in Halloween, but soon discovers Christmas and wants to be "Sandy Claws", that's it.
5. The Lion King
The Lion King is definitely a Disney fan favorite of course. I have to say it is one of the best Disney films ever made. Everyone loves a good jam session of Hakuna Matata with Timon and Pumbaa.
6. Hercules
If Hercules isn't in your top Disney movies, well then I think something must be wrong with you. It's a great story about the Olympian Gods with some amazing music to go along with it! Now I have one of the songs stuck in my head.
7. Flubber
Flubber is definitely an underrated Disney movie in my opinion. Not only is the main star Robin Williams, who everyone should love, but there is a crazy green goo called Flubber! I know a lot of people haven't seen this movie and they should definitely think about it!
8. Mulan
Mulan is an amazing movie. I don't know how anyone couldn't love this one. Mulan is a girl who goes to fight in the war against the Huns, even though she is a girl, to save her father. She saves China... can it get any better?
9. A Bug's Life
Another movie that I have always loved: A Bug's Life. One little ant trying to save his entire colony by going on an adventure to find "bigger bugs" to defeat the evil Hopper.
10. Tarzan
Tarzan is definitely another Disney fan favorite. With its incredible story line and amazing music, this one is in the top. Phil Collins has made his impact with his music in Disney movies and this is one of them. Sorry, this isn't the last one.
11. The Emperor's New Groove
This movie is an awesome one. It is hilarious with David Spade as Emperor Kuzco. I mean it's about an emperor who only cares about himself that gets turned into a llama... and what about Kronk? Squeak squeaker, squeak squeaking.
11. Brother Bear
Brother Bear is definitely in my top 10! I could watch this movie over and over again and never get tired of it. I even did a project over it senior year. I loved it when I was little too, even more so after I got to meet Kenai and Koda at Disney's Animal Kingdom! It's also another movie where Phil Collins wrote the music.
12. Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo is another one I could watch over and over again, and I have. I can quote this entire movie, so I suggest never watching it with me if that kind of things bothers you.
13. The Pirates of the Caribbean (all of them)
Now who can say they don't love Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, or Kiera Knightley? It's a triple threat! These movies have no doubt been a hit. My personal favorite is the third one, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
14. Frozen
I know you're probably thinking, "Frozen? Really?", but you know the first time that you watched it that you loved it. It's pretty hard not to with the quirky Anna, the adorable Olaf, and the magical Elsa. Not only does this film give a great message, but the music is definitely some of the best Disney has ever done. Almost done here...
15. Big Hero 6
This is obviously one of the newer Disney movies that I know a lot of people haven't taken the time to watch and they should! It will make you laugh and cry, it's a great story! Baymax is the funniest and coolest thing you will ever see.
16. Maleficent
This one was a twist on the movie Sleeping Beauty. It tells the story through Maleficent's perspective, played by Angelina Jolie. This one will definitely make you cry, well done Disney.
17. Inside Out
I don't even know where to begin with this one. Being the newest Disney movie, it is remarkable! Disney definitely got really creative with this one. I won't share any spoilers because it is so new, but if you haven't gone to see this one yet, it is worth the movie theater priced tickets! We even went and saw it twice, it's that good.
That is where I will stop! Obviously I can not choose favorites very well and I even left out a lot of movies that I love, but may be not be my favorites. It's pretty obvious that the Walt Disney Studios makes some of the best movies and stories ever. I'm also looking forward to some of their new movies coming out: Zootopia, Finding Dory, and Toy Story 4.
Let me know your opinions on my favorites and feel free to share your favorites as well! Coming up next: My least favorite Disney movies.
See ya real soon!
